What is your purpose in life? Why are you here at this present time on this planet Earth? In many ways this relates to my previous post about identity and who you are. There are many who like to be always in the spotlight and will do anything to get to that spot. There are others who work quietly in the background without any kind of recognition and there are those in between those two types. But what has that got to do with your purpose in life?
I always knew that I would be a teacher. From a very early age I knew that this was what I wanted to do and I have taught or mentored until the last few years when I retired officially. But in many ways I still teach and mentor. I feel that this was and is my purpose in life and it is what I was here to do.
But often that purpose is not so clear and many try one thing and then another until they find what they feel is really for them. Your purpose in life though might not be your job. It might be the way you live and ‘work’ with others not your actual type of employment. It can be the effect you have on others too and be something that is also not part of your job but part of the way you live your life.
So to go back to those who always want to be at the top or in the spotlight. There are many of these and some will lie and pretend to be something they are not in order to get the spotlight on them. We see many of those kinds of people every day. Hopefully one day they will find their true purpose in life and change their ways.
It is often those who sit quietly and get on with their work but who will always help others when needed and do good things for others in their spare time. They often go unrecognised except by their friends. What type of person are you and do you know why you are here, what your purpose in life is? If you haven’t got that far yet then know that you will find it sooner rather than later and feel great satisfaction when you know your true purpose in life.
